Warren's Story

In a 1996 friendly between Australia and Japan in Melbourne, Socceroo Warren Spink suffered a life-threatening, and ultimately a life-altering, head trauma.
Knocked unconscious for nine minutes following a head clash with his opponent, Warren suffered a concussion that left him with short and long-term side effects.

The campaign

Warren is in need of daily support due to his health condition as a result of his head injury.

The PFA is encouraging the Australian football community to rally behind Warren by fundraising to support his current situation



The documentary

To share Warren's story and help raise wider awareness of concussion and head trauma in football the PFA has produced a 4-minute mini-documentary that share's Warren's experience and health challanges.

The documentary will be released in June, 2024.
